Mango – Madagascar
The mango is native to South Asia, from where it has been distributed worldwide to become one of the most cultivated fruits in the tropics.
World production of mangoes exceeds 40 million tonnes, with India China and Thailand as the largest producers.
Mango wood is used in furniture construction and in house construction.
Mango fruits are eaten fresh, processed into juice, processed into pulp, sun dried, powdered.
A ripe mango is irresistible to a majority of people – especially people from non-tropical countries.
Mango picking is labor intensive. Preparing and packing mangoes for export requires great care.
Madagascar has several varieties of export quality mangoes. The skill is in handling them carefully & in packing them carefully – so that they reach their destinations in excellent condition.
We intend to also diversify into mango juice, mango pulp & dried mango production.
